I can do all things.

This verse is a verse very close to my heart, it was one of the first I memorised because I needed all of God’s strength just to get through the day, and guess what I still do just in a different way.

I love this because it say I can do all things. I don’t think when Paul was writing this he meant that God can only do a few things. He can do all things! The problem isn’t with God its with us, we kind of put God in a box and limit Him so He can’t do all things. We tend not to give Him everything because we like to keep somethings to ourselves.

I must admit I have been guilty of this, about 9 months into my walk with God I got to braking point and nearly gave up, I phoned my Dad and said all this is too hard. He then told me a simple direct truth, I hadn’t given it all to God and unless I do this then I will miss out on His blessing. So guess what I did, I repented to my Heavenly Father and gave Him everything, even the nasty bits in my soul that I didn’t want to give.  I wanted all of Him, I wanted everything He had to offer and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve had to do this a few times since because I still have the tendency to hold somethings to myself but this is a learning curve and who better to teach my then God.

If there is anything your holding back from Him it could be your finances, your job, your past. Please give it to Him today as He wants everything from us and in return He can do all things. He can heal the old wounds, restore old relationships, He controls everything so why not give Him it all. He knows it all anyway, there is nothing impossible for Him, He just wants your heart.

Through Christ who strengthens me. We can’t do this in our strength, but we can do it with Jesus. He will strengthen you and get you through everything that comes your way. He is our strength, our rock and with Him we can stand firm because He will never leave us. We have this strength when we surrender it all to Him, when we submit to Him and say God here I am, have it all. It’s hard because we want to keep things back and hold onto somethings like a security blanket, but once you have done this then you will know freedom that is only found in Christ. You don’t have to worry about life because the author of this world is with you, you don’t have to worry about darkness because the light walks with you, you don’t have to worry about valleys because there is always a mountain around the corner, it might be a climb to reach the top but with Christ you will get there, because He is our strength.

The next time you’re facing a challenging and you’re trying to find a way out, why not say to God show me the way out, guide me out of this and teach me so I don’t have to face this again. It’s so easy to use this verse in the good times, it’s another matter to use it when your stuck in no mans land and can’t see a way out, when your head is trying to figure out where to go, what to do next. This is the point when you need to call out to God and ask Him for the strength just to stand, then the strength to take the first step eventually you will be walking strong.

One of the first things I do before I even think about getting out of bed, is invite God into my day, I ask Him for the strength to get through it and to use me where I am to build His kingdom. I do occasionally slip up and go off the deep end but I do seem to have a peace when I do this, I just give the day to Him before I even think about getting ready. This helps me stay God focused, I then give Him all things in my day to do with as He sees fit and this way He can strengthen and guide me through it. This way I can do His will in the mist of my day-to-day life, I can be a word of comfort for someone, the friendly voice they need, anything God asks of me. I don’t know this just seems to help me stay heaven focused and God motivated.

I pray that you find the strength to let go of the things of the past, the old thought patterns and habits and surrender it all to God. I pray that you find His strength in the valley and remember that you call do all things through Christ who strengthens you because there is nothing too hard for Him. God bless you.
