Why do we feel the need to look around and feel like we are not where we should be? Why do we look around and compare ourselves to people around us? Why are we looking at people and thinking that they have it all together. Why are we looking at people and wishing that we looked like that, had that kind of house, job, car and why do we look to people and use them as a measuring stick?

The church don’t look much different from the world, if anything I would say we are worse because we know better and yet choose not to love one another. We know that we are meant to live in unity and love one another but we don’t, we have let comparison and compromise in our hearts. We look at our fellow brothers and sisters and compare, judge, envy and belittle them. We tear them down instead of building them up and walking with them.

I urge you, my brothers and sisters, for the sake of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree to live in unity with one another and put to rest any division that attempts to tear you apart. Be restored as one united body living in perfect harmony. Form a consistent choreography among yourselves, having a common perspective with shared values.

1 Corinthians 1:10 TPT

Why are we as Christians not helping our brothers and sisters, we are called to love them not judge them!

We are all designed to love God and we find all we will ever need when we have a close relationship with Him. He will then help us to love our brothers and sisters. We all agree that no two people are the same, that we get on with some people more than other, yet as Christians we are told to love everyone not just some. We are told to love out enemy and bless those that curse us, you think that would be only people who are unsaved which we have to bless because the curse us. But, I’ve heard of many people being gossiped about, having roumors spread and people been completely ignored in church! And they’ve had to forgive these people who should be at our side, standing with us in prayer and fellowship. Admittedly it’s not every church but still you think these people would fear God!

Why do we all cry out for more of God when were not even following some of the basic Christian values we teach our children! Love God first and love your neighbour as yourself!

Are we living this out? I’m trying to live this everyday, I try to love everyone around me because I know what it’s like to feel unloved and reflected by people. I try to make everyone feel loved and cared for even if it’s only a smile and hug, when people are hurting they need TLC (tender loving care.)

I’ve had to numerous times go to God because of my attitude, I’ve said the wrong thing or just been completely out of line with God word on loving the people. I’ve spent more times on my knees asking forgiveness for my words and thoughts than anything else because I don’t want to be like this world! I want to love everyone around me, especially the people who’ve hurt me. I want to love and care for people without thinking, without it being an effort I want it to be second nature to me. I’m not there yet but I’m better than when I started this process, everyday is a challenge but I chose to show the love of God even when I don’t feel like it. I now want to challenge you to do the same, to love the people around you. God bless.
